Recorded in Barcelona, Latino Americano is the latest album from bassist and composer Raphael Du Valle. This album marks a new stage in his career, reaffirming his artistic identity and his constant search for new sounds.
The album was recorded as a trio, featuring Brazilian musicians Rodrigo Mendonça on flute and Alan Souza on percussion. This configuration creates a distinctive sound, with the interplay of instruments revealing the rhythmic and expressive richness of Brazilian and Latin American music.
Drawing inspiration from ijexá, samba, choro and latin jazz, the repertoire showcases the electric bass as the melodic and harmonic protagonist, driving arrangements that blend subtlety, groove and sophistication.
With its refined arrangements and contemporary sound, Latino Americano captures the essence of a generation of Brazilian musicians who approach instrumental music with sensitivity and innovation. More than just a recording, the album celebrates the culture of the Americas and the ability of music to build bridges between people and across borders.
